Diwali is the festival that brings good luck to all. The lighted diya should not only enlighten the environment but also has to shed the darkness of poverty and ignorance. However, the question is how far we are able to understand and appreciate the fact that we are moving away from the real essence of the festival of light? The festival slowly but surely is becoming a problem for the environment due to the carelessness and heedlessness of the general people around.
Here we present to you 5 indoor plants that can be put to use to give your interiors an upgrade, and also have amazing health benefits on you.

1) Pothos:
Pothos is a tropical vine, which is commonly grown as a houseplant. It’s widely grown indoors for ornamental purposes and due to its low maintenance and tolerance to low light conditions. It’s a forgiving houseplant that grows even in low lighting and drought like condition in cool temperature. Pothos is very apt at removing VOCs and toxins from the surrounding air, such as benzene, toluene, formaldehyde, carbon monoxide and xylene from the air. The harmful effect of these pollutants can’t be underestimated.

2)Succulents:
Houseplants have always been an easy way of bringing in a little bit of personality and greenery into your home. But the current trend of succulent potters and groupings might just be our favourite yet, as they require minimal attention. They're able to live through the harshest of environments and are incredibly easy to look after. Hallelujah. Succulents can contribute to reducing flu-like symptoms, headaches, fever and coughs. These are excellent at cleansing the air and removing toxins. These plants are extra helpful in library and study environments because VOC substances like benzene and formaldehyde are found in rugs, cigarette smoke, grocery bags, books and ink.

3) Snake plant:
The snake plant, commonly referred to as mother-in-law’s tongue, is a resilient succulent that can grow anywhere between 6 inches to several feet. In addition to providing a bit of ambiance, snake plants have a number of health benefits.
Similar to other household succulents, snake plants help to filter indoor air. What’s unique about this particular plant is that it’s one of the few plants that can convert carbon dioxide (CO2) into oxygen at night. This quality makes it an ideal plant for bedroom decor as it can help regulate healthy airflow. Also making this plant one of the most required plants around you this diwali.

4) Syngonium:
Syngonium plants are not just decorative, they have the ability to cleanse the air you, breathe and act as anti-pollutants. These plants can reduce components of indoor air pollution, even volatile organic compounds such as benzene, formaldehyde, toluene, and xylene. They also reduce airborne microbes and increase humidity. For indoors, place the syngonium or goosefoot plant in front of a sharp corner or angle that maybe cutting Chi. This will help reduce stress, anxiety, sleep disorders and arguments. Chi always flows along a smooth wall or surface until it meets a sharp angle where it creates turbulent energy at the point. Placing a Feng Shui plant in front of the angle will soften it.

5) Aralia Bush:
The Aralia is mostly favored because of its foliage. It has large bipinnate leaves that are clustered at the end of the stems/ branches. Some species have bristles with most stems being prickly. They have a variety of leaf forms as well as coloration. The leaf forms range from elegant, lacy leaves to the rounded leaflets . The variegations range from gold to cream to white to solid green. The branches are sweeping, curving and heavy. The foliage is shaggy. These traits make the plant ideal for ornamental benefits. These beauties also have immense health benefits on you.
